Ask ELOS

For engineers, engineering managers, administrators, security and compliance 5 min readAvailability depends on your plan

Ask a question and get an answer from your organization's own knowledge, with citations, scoped to what you can see.

Before you begin

  • The Use Ask ELOS permission, which every built-in role has.

Ask ELOS answers from your organization's knowledge, not from general knowledge. Every answer cites its sources, and when the sources don't support an answer, it says so instead of guessing.

Ask a question

  1. Choose Ask ELOS in the corner of any page, press ⌘K / Ctrl+K, or use the Ask box on Dashboard or Knowledge.
  2. Ask in plain language, for example "How do we roll back a payments deploy?"
  3. Read the answer. Numbered markers link each statement to a source, and Based on lists the sources used.

How answers stay trustworthy

  • Cited: every answer shows the sources it used.
  • Checked: each answer is checked against its sources before you see it; the panel says so.
  • Scoped: answers only use what you're allowed to see. The footer reminds you: Answers are filtered to what you're allowed to see. Actions need approval.
  • Bounded: administrators choose which kinds of data Ask ELOS may use. See AI and your data.

Drafts, not actions

Ask ELOS can draft an action for you, such as an access request, an elevation or a handover task. It never acts on its own: you check the draft and confirm it, and the normal approvals apply.

Follow-ups and history

Ask a follow-up in the same conversation, or choose the plus button for a new one. The clock button opens Your conversations. See Memory and conversations.

What's next

  • Memory and conversations: Tell Ask ELOS what to remember about you, see and delete it, and manage or download your conversations.
