Register a joiner

For engineering managers, administrators 3 min read

Add a new engineer once HR has hired them. ELOS starts their onboarding and a day-one plan automatically.

Before you begin

  • The Manage people permission.

Your HR system hires people. ELOS starts where HR hands over: it runs the engineering side of joining, from access and tools to the knowledge a new engineer needs before they operate anything.

Add the joiner

  1. Open Onboarding and choose Add teammate. You can also start from the Dashboard.
  2. In Register a joiner, enter their Full name, Role and Team, and optionally their Manager.
  3. Choose Register joiner.

Onboarding starts automatically. The joiner appears on Onboarding and Members with the lifecycle stage Preboarding · Join, and their day-one plan is built from their role.

What ELOS sets up

  • A day-one plan of access, assets and tasks for the role, each with who can complete it.
  • A place in Time to productive, measured from the day they join.

Start their knowledge journey

On the joiner's page, choose Knowledge journey, then Generate journey. ELOS builds a journey for their role and team, from project context to engineering-ready. See The knowledge journey.
