Time to productive

For engineering managers 4 min read

How fast joiners go from their first day to delivering, measured from real onboarding, access and ownership state.

Time to productive measures how fast your engineers go from joining to delivering on their project, and how many get there within 30 days. It's derived from what actually happened in onboarding, access and ownership, never self-reported.

A milestone shows signal pending when the system that proves it, such as source control for a first pull request, isn't connected yet. Connect it on Get started.

Use the report

  • Filter by team with All teams.
  • Export report downloads the figures as a JSON file for your own reporting.
  • The Joiners table shows each engineer's days since joining, current milestone and whether they're on track.

What's next

  • Request access: Ask for exactly the access you need, with a reason. It goes to the right approver and expires on its own.
